About Deena

Deena Davis is a Certified Addiction and Recovery Empowerment Specialist (CARES) who has dedicated over a decade to supporting families and individuals impacted by substance use and the child welfare system. A proud graduate of Douglas County Family Treatment Court in 2010, Deena later served that very same court for more than ten years, turning her lived experience into leadership and lasting impact. Today, she serves as the Resource Coordinator for the Council of Accountability Court Judges (CACJ) for the state of Georgia, helping strengthen recovery resources across all accountability courts statewide. Deena is the Secretary of the National Treatment Court Alumni Association (NTCAA) and a 2022 Georgia Recovery Ambassador, featured in the GA Recovers statewide billboard campaign celebrating recovery. Nationally recognized for her expertise in peer support and family-centered recovery, Deena has collaborated with Children and Family Futures, All Rise, and other national organizations as a trainer, facilitator, and subject matter expert. In addition to her professional work, Deena serves on the Maternal Mortality Review Panel, bringing a family-focused and recovery-informed lens to state-level discussions on prevention and support. Living in long-term recovery for more than 17 years, Deena uses her story to inspire hope, reduce stigma, and promote the belief that recovery is possible for everyone.
