As a former educator and present business owner, I have been actively involved in many areas of support and service since moving to Douglas County in 2003.  Those organizations include the Douglas County Chamber, CORE - the Douglas County arm of Georgia Family Connections, and Partners in Education along with several nonprofit boards.  In 2015 we lost our precious grandson to suicide at the age of 23.  This awakened my responsibility to learn how to help other families dealing with addiction. My introduction to The Never Alone Clubhouse was in 2021 when we brought our niece to live with us so she could go through her recovery with family support.  When Jocelyn asked me to join her board as the community resource liaison, it was a definite "Yes!".  All the community networking and service I had been involved in had prepared me for this position.  I am so thankful that I can now be part of the journey of recovery for others.
