About Desiree
Recovery has given me more than I ever imagined. It gave me my life back. It restored my relationships with my husband, my three daughters, my son, and my five beautiful grandchildren who I absolutely adore. Today, I have the privilege of showing up for my family, caring for them, and living as someone who can be trusted again. That kind of restoration is something I do not take lightly, and it continues to shape how I live and how I serve.
By God’s grace, I have also been given the opportunity to grow, not only personally, but professionally. I serve as the Lead Peer Support Specialist at The Never Alone Clubhouse (NACH), where I support individuals and families impacted by substance use disorder. I help create a safe, welcoming space where people can be seen, heard, and supported without judgment. Whether it is helping someone take their first step toward recovery, connecting them to resources, encouraging them through a hard season, or simply reminding them they are not alone, I consider it an honor to walk beside others on their journey.
Recovery has taught me that healing is possible, that change can happen one day at a time, and that community matters. Serving at NACH has strengthened my skills, deepened my leadership, and refined my purpose. It has helped me grow in patience, empathy, and resilience, while keeping me grounded in what matters most: hope, connection, and long-term freedom.
If my journey can help even one person believe there is a way forward, then every step has been worth it.
